What Drives Us

Mission

MIXERS exists to be more than a place to eat or have a drink. We were founded to create a modern, welcoming gathering place in Houston, BC—a place where local families, friends, workers, travelers, and community groups can connect over good food, good service, and shared experiences. MIXERS began with a simple belief: small communities deserve vibrant, high-quality hospitality spaces that reflect their people and contribute to local pride. Built in a familiar central location with a fresh identity, the business was created to fill the gap left by the loss of community gathering places and to offer a dependable destination for everyday dining, celebrations, events, live entertainment, and connection. Our mission today is to operate a resilient, responsible, and community-rooted bar and restaurant: delivering a consistently welcoming guest experience, supporting a strong team, maintaining disciplined operations, and building a business that can adapt through changing conditions. We value accountability, practical problem-solving, quality, respect, and follow-through. We are not building a speculative concept—we are strengthening a real business with real assets, an established local brand, and a loyal customer base. Over the next five years, our mission is to evolve MIXERS from a resilient founder-led operation into a stronger, collaborative leadership company. We are bringing together an Executive Chef, Executive Financial Officer, and Executive Marketing Officer to elevate culinary execution, financial discipline, systems, events, marketing, and guest growth under one shared plan. Success means a better experience for guests, clearer opportunity and development for staff, meaningful ownership potential for committed working partners, and durable value for the business and the Houston community. MIXERS’ long-term vision is simple: become the region’s most trusted community hospitality destination—known for great experiences, strong leadership, sustainable performance

Problem

MIXERS addresses a practical community problem: in a small town, residents, workers, and travellers need more than a place to buy food or drinks—they need a dependable, welcoming place to gather, connect, celebrate, and feel part of the community. Houston has limited options for a full-service licensed dining and social experience. Without a strong local venue, families have fewer places for meals out, friends have fewer places to connect, workers and highway travellers have fewer reliable options after a long day, and community events lose an important home. The result is that spending, social energy, and opportunities for local connection can leave the community. The customer-facing problem is not simply “there is nowhere to eat.” It is the lack of a consistent, high-quality hospitality destination that can meet several needs in one place: A reliable meal and welcoming service for residents and travellers A comfortable venue for socializing, celebrations, and family occasions A safe, well-run setting for events, karaoke, live entertainment, and community gatherings A food-and-beverage experience that feels current, well-managed, and worth returning to A local business that understands the rhythms, needs, and pride of a Northern BC community MIXERS’ next chapter solves this more completely. Building a leadership team with dedicated culinary, financial, and marketing expertise will help us strengthen food quality and consistency, improve value and operational reliability, create better events and promotions, and communicate more effectively with the people we serve. Our goal is to make it easier for customers to choose local: to know they can come to MIXERS for a dependable meal, a great night out, a gathering with friends or family, or an event that brings the community together. In doing so, MIXERS supports a stronger local social hub while building a more sustainable business that can serve Houston well for years to come.

Solution

We will solve these problems by building a stronger founder team around one shared operating plan: better food, service, events, value, and community connection—delivered through reliable systems, not dependent on one person carrying every function. Executive Chef: Leads menu development, food quality, kitchen systems, purchasing, labour planning, and food-cost control—creating a more consistent, appealing dining experience. Executive Financial Officer: Strengthens reporting, budgeting, pricing, cash awareness, inventory controls, and performance review—helping MIXERS make responsible decisions and remain a stable local venue. Executive Marketing Officer: Builds brand visibility, promotions, digital communication, community partnerships, and an event calendar that gives customers more reasons to visit and return. Founder & CEO: Aligns the team around service standards, community trust, business continuity, and long-term direction. Over the next five years, we will refine the food program through menu engineering, recipe costing, kitchen workflow, staff training, and seasonal offerings. Build dependable events around karaoke, live entertainment, local celebrations, sports, holidays, fundraisers, and private gatherings. Improve the guest experience through clear service standards, staff development, feedback, and a welcoming atmosphere. Strengthen operations with POS and inventory tools, financial reporting, cost controls, documented procedures, and disciplined reinvestment. Grow awareness through social media, digital marketing, local partnerships, loyalty initiatives, tourism visibility, and outreach to travelers and industrial workers. Evaluate catering, group bookings, private events, kitchen upgrades, and venue improvements only when they improve customer value and can be delivered profitably. The solution is not simply more advertising or a new menu. It is an accountable leadership team that connects what we promise with what we consistently deliver.
